I am planning to sign up for the webinar but am also interested in attending a one-day seminar. I am not a professional photographer but have been photographing
shelter dogs for over ten years to get their faces out to the public. I am part of a
four person not-for-profit organization that takes shelter dogs into prison and trains
the inmates to train the dogs and then adopt them to loving homes. I am interested
in improving my skills to better represent the unique qualities of each dog. I guess
my question is; are you planning a one-day seminar, where will it likely be located,
and will it be open to amateurs?
Thank you,

Hi Vicky
The webinars for animal rescue photographers are held monthly. We have plans to do a one day workshop in Dallas at some point, but for now, nothing is scheduled. The Unleashed Workshop is being held in Dallas (Plano) over 3 days starting June 2nd. It’s designed for new photographers with DSLRs or experienced photographers interested in adding pets to their existing business.
Hope that helps clarify!
Thanks
Teresa
I live in Dallas and would love to take your workshop, however it is way out of my price range. But I was wondering if you needed anyone to help out with food, personal assistanting, driving out of towners, lighting, etc. kind of like a concierge service. I have a degree in photography and right out of college went to work as a photojournalist for a newspaper (this was MANY) years ago. I learned on manual film 35mm cameras and then went in to the corporate world and kind of left it behind. I have been needing to get back to the basics of my life and find art again so I just recently bought a digital camera and am learning all over again, so whatever I could soak up while helping out would be wonderful to me. Please let me know if you are in need of ANY assistance. If you would like I can email you a copy of my personal resume. Thanks for your time, Lindy McCoy-Cockburn
Hi Lindy,
Thanks for your interest!
We’ve got our staff lined up, but if I ever do a one day workshop here in Dallas, it will be posted on the other blog: http://www.focusonrescue.com
It won’t be structured like Unleashed…. because it will be a bigger group and less individual instruction –but it will be more affordable for you. Spending two whole days living and breathing photography with a small group of other photographers is just the best experience. I hope you change your mind and decide to join us!
